Who We Are

Renee Myers

Renee Myers

Renee Myers joined Wild Rivers Land Trust as the Conservation Director in 2023. She has been working to advance conservation efforts nationally and internationally for over 25 years. Her passion for conservation work stems from the deep connection she feels to the land and a sense of personal responsibility to help heal our inextricably linked, natural and human ecosystems.

Renee’s connection to the land started as a young child growing up on an agricultural farm in upstate NY. She moved to Montana in 1994 for amazing fishing and of course, to turn her love of the land into a career. She graduated from the University of Montana in 1996 with a degree in Resource Conservation and spent the next 16 years working as a forest hydrologist for the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation and as executive director of the Watershed Restoration Coalition.

Prior to taking on the role as conservation director for Wild Rivers Land Trust, Renee was the executive director at Forest Park Conservancy for over 11 years. While at the conservancy she planned and managed the organization’s strategic vision, forged critical alliances, helped develop innovative, equitable partnership models and worked to advance equitable and safe access to our public lands for people from all walks of life.

From 2015 to 2022, she worked on various conservation projects in Sabah and Sarawak Borneo for the US State Department in Malaysia. Her work involved consulting on land conservation projects, urban and National Park management strategies, fish and wildlife conservation plans and environmental education and stewardship programming.

When she is not working, you will find her either hanging with her three incredibly cool teenagers, playing a little guitar and if she is lucky, alone on a river with a good hatch and a fly rod.
