Paul Sherman
Paul Sherman is a retired Professor of Behavioral Ecology at Cornell University who joined Wild Rivers Land Trust’s Board of Directors in 2025.
During his career, Paul published or edited seven books and 195 papers and book chapters. He also sponsored or co-sponsored 23 doctoral students and seven postdoctoral students. In 2005, he was awarded the Stephen H. Weiss Presidential Fellowship for "effective, inspiring, and distinguished teaching of undergraduate students.”
Paul’s knowledge of ecology, animal behavior, and evolutionary biology – as well as financial planning – is an asset to Wild Rivers Land Trust.
Prior to becoming a board member, Paul was already a valuable contributor to Wild Rivers Land Trust. He was the key player in the creation of the Raven Ridge conservation easement and land donation, as well as an Executive Director endowment.
Paul currently serves as a board member of the Oregon Shores Conservation Coalition, where he participates in fundraising campaigns and finance committees. He also recently served on the board of the Elakha Alliance.
