Raising awareness for our cause

Working together to keep the irreplaceable lands and waters of the Southern Oregon Coast forever wild and abundant

We believe our environment, economic prosperity and rural coastal culture are connected.

From Reedsport to Brookings, we conserve and steward the natural spaces that people and wildlife depend on for clean air, fresh water and healthy habitats. By partnering with willing landowners, we also help working farms and ranches preserve their legacies for future generations.

Latest News and Announcements

Wild Rivers Land Trust acquired one of our largest and most ecologically-diverse properties in July, 2023. The 275-acre Bagley North property encompasses a mix of natural features, including aquatic habitats, mixed forestlands and pastures.

The property contains more than 4,000 feet of the main stem of the Elk River, the lower portion of Bagley Creek, Indian Creek and other branches of the watershed. These tributaries flow into the clear, blue-green waters of the Elk River at the heart of Wild Rivers Land Trusts’ service area.

Wild Rivers Land Trust’s 25th Anniversary Celebration was a big success thanks to everyone who came out to support us.

During the party on Saturday, July 12, a big group of our supporters went on the walking tour of the Middle Elk Reserve with our Stewardship Manager Max Beeken. They also had the opportunity to learn about the history of our organization from past Executive Director Ann Schmierer, hear from our current Board President Jenny Dukek, as well as our Executive Director Amy Knapp Pettit.

The year 2025 marks a major milestone for the Wild Rivers Land Trust.

It is our 25th Anniversary!

We are so proud of how far we have come in the past 25 years, and we couldn’t have done it without our hardworking staff, dedicated board members and longtime supporters.

As we look back on the past 25 years, we are so thankful for all of the people who have stood by the organization for decades, donating their time and money to bring our vision to life; where clean water, abundant salmon runs, sustainable working lands, and prospering rural communities define Oregon’s Southern Coast.
